Skitter TV Troubleshooting & Guides

IMPORTANT: SkitterTV requires a set-top box and is connected to your television set in the same way any other component such as a DVD player or VCR.

In order to view it you must select the source, or input, for that component on your television.

Making sure your Television is on the correct Input or Source

To select the source or input with your Skitter remote control, use the top middle button on the remote, labeled AV. Pressing this button will change the source input on your television. Depending on how many inputs your specific television has, you may need to press the AV button multiple times.

Making sure both your television and your set-top-box are turned on

If there is no red light on the front of the set-top-box then it is not on. To turn on the set-top-box, briefly press the top right button (labeled (STB) in red lettering) on the Skitter remote control. If no red light appears within a minute then check the power source to verify the set-top-box is getting electricity.

If the red light is on and you still have no picture, press the top left button (labeled (TV) on the Skitter remote control. This will power on your television. (If it has been programmed to your specific television)

Do you have the correct remote control?

Make sure that you are not using your original television remote and that you are using the SkitterTV remote control. Often remotes get exchanged between rooms and even though they will control the set-top-box operationally, it is programmed differently for each specific television brand and model. If you have a purchased a new television, programming will need to be done with the SkitterTV remote control to ensure it operates both the television and set-top-box in that location.

Do you have picture freezing up or spotty?

You can first try turning the box off and then back on again using the top right button (labeled (STB) in red lettering) on the Skitter remote control. If that does not correct the problem try rebooting the set-top-box manually, by simply unplugging the power cord to the set-top-box (The smallest round black cord from the middle of the back), wait 10 seconds and plug the power cord back in and look for the Amino start-up screen followed by a few software loading screens. If problems persist, contact Farmtel for technical assistance.

Not all channels appear in the GUIDE?

Press the Guide button another time to toggle between favorite channels and all channels. If this does not correct the problem, try turning the set-top-box off and then back on again using the top right button (labeled (STB) in red lettering) on the Skitter remote control.  If new channels have recently been added or removed from your account, pressing the lower left button labeled (TEXT) with an UP ARROW will cause the STB to retrieve your latest lineup.

Have no picture or no sound?

Turn your set-top-box off and then back on again pressing the top right button (labeled (STB) in red lettering) on the Skitter remote control.
